Insurance purchase refund policy

If you purchase your insurance online or over the phone, you have a 14-day cancellation period from the day after you enter into the contract.  You are entitled to this under the Financial Services (Distance Marketing Regulations) 2004.

If you’ve already made a claim in the first 14 days, any amount paid out will be deducted from the sum due from the refund of the premium. Should the claim still be in the process of being assessed, then the refund would happen after the settlement decision. Should the claim value be of a higher value than the premium paid, then no refund amount will be due.

If no claims have been made and you cancel within 14 days of receiving your policy documents, you will be entitled to a refund, with a pro-rata deduction for the time you were covered for.  There will be a one-off charge of £25 to cover administration costs from cancelling the policy.
